I'm a massive fan of Non-violence, I do think that the 'wrist band scheme' is unrealistic becuase they are private companies and I've had taxi drivers ditch me becuase my petty 3 or 4 km trip wasnt enough to make it worth it for them. But I really like the idea of promoting non violence in any way possible. Public demonstations of various kinds that promote non-violence would be really great. The only thing on small scale I can think of would be massive signs once a week in very public forums with words of wisdom from Non-violence promoters of the past. Maybe even handing out wallet sized cards with quotes on them that spread love and so forth. I'm not sure, just letting you know that i've got my eyes on the page and supporting it.

Our response: Thankyou so much for your feedback, and we understand the difficulty involved in getting private companies to get involved in non profit organisations. However if we generate support we are hoping to seek local Government or Council funding so the cost can be subsidised. Therefore we wouldn't need to rely on taxi companies sacrificing profits, rather that they would receive part of it from another source for those involved in the anti-violence campaign. However we LOVE the idea of holding public events and we are trying to rally up the support to attend an outing shortly with free goodies and information for people!

I really like what you're doing. If we try and make melbourne safer, people might venture out more instead of fear of being bashed :)

6th of May - In response to the "Take Me Drunk I'm Home" Initiative to Subsidise Taxi Rides Home:
"makem take just 20 - 25 percent off the taxi ride and that would help people get home"
"Such a great idea, my luck with last-train-of-the-night has been poor at best, usually I'd rather foot a $30 cab bill than a knife wound, so I'm definitely open to the wristband campaign!"
"top job, hopefully it happens :)"
